The Draft Environmental Impact Report for the Barstow International Gateway project and the City of Barstow’s General Plan Update will become available on Monday, November 10, 2025.

  • This will open a 45-day public review period – November 10, 2025, to January 5, 2026.  The number of calendar days is 57 due to the upcoming holidays.
  • Comments can support the General Plan Update, support the proposed Barstow International Gateway, and support the City’s work to plan for and bring into life our community’s future. Comments can also raise any questions or concerns.
  • Written comments on the Draft Environmental Impact Report need to be submitted on or before January 5, 2026, to be included in the EIR process.  Comments will be helpful throughout the comment period, not just at the end.
  • Next steps will be City staff and consultants, and BNSF, review of the comments, and completion of any needed adjustments to the Final Environmental Impact Report in the first few months of 2026.
  • Please submit comments to the City and stay tuned for your opportunity to come in person and speak to the Planning Commission and City Council about the importance of the project.
